Angie Alexandrou passed away peacefully in Samos, Greece on June 7, 2025
(Saturday of the Souls) at the age of 103 surrounded by her loving family.
She
loved traveling between her two favorite places: Leka in Samos, Greece and Brook
Park near Cleveland, Ohio. She also loved visiting family in other states and
traveling to the Holy Land on three different occasions. She was a lifelong
member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where she
served as President and officer of the Philoptochos. She would return home no
matter where she was traveling so that she could work tirelessly making the
loukoumades at their annual festival. She enjoyed reading, gardening, doing
needlepoint and spending time with her loving family and friends. Her love for
children was also a beautiful trademark she shared with many.
Angie was the beloved wife of Demetrios Alexandrou (deceased) for over 50 years
and is survived by 3 out of her 4 children. She was the loving mother of Gus
Alexandrou (deceased) (Debbie), Rev. John Alexandrou (Presbytera Toula),
Presbytera Stella (Rev. James Stathakios), and Sylvia Kalkanis (Kosta-deceased).
She is also survived by several grandchildren who were also the pride and joy of
her life: Angie Cobb, Jim Alexandrou, Tom Stathakios, Jim Stathakios, Angie
Galdi, Christina Lambrianakos, Demetra Tsetsekas, Tammy Baxevanis, Demetrios
Kalkanis. In addition, she was also blessed with many more great and great-great
grandchildren who loved her dearly.
Angie Alexandrou was also sister to John, Panagiotis, and Demetrios (all
deceased), and Maritsa (Michalis-deceased). She is survived by many loving
nephews and nieces including Tom, Vanny, Argyroula, Panagiotis, and Theodora.
She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her for her kind loving ways,
her quiet strength, and her dedication to her faith, family and friends. She is
now resting peacefully in the loving arms of God.
