Obituary

Dorothy Herrick (nee Ferencik), age 92 of Lakewood, Ohio entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Gates (nee Herrick), her grandchildren; Joseph Gates (Stefani), Sarah Gates Thompson (Brian), and Jacqueline Gates Ely (Matthew), and her beloved great-granddaughter Abigail Thompson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John Herrick, her parents Samuel and Marie Ferencik, and her son-in law Henry Gates.

Dorothy was a beloved resident of and community member of the Fedor Manor in Lakewood. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and going out to eat with family- even enjoying an occasional glass of sweet wine or a margarita.

Dorothy was truly a selfless and generous person who had an immense amount of love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Funeral services will be held

Friday, February 23, 10 am at

The Transfiguration Parish, (Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church)
