IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald L.
"Jerry" Pacanosky
August 22, 1947 – September 15, 2024
Gerald L. Pacanosky "Jerry" age 77 of Cleveland, passed away suddenly at his home on September 15, 2024 while he was doing what he loved: tinkering and fiddling.
Jerry was one of the most amazing human beings who had the kindest heart and most gentle soul. He lived to help others and was a God-fearing man and disciple of Christ. He never complained and always greeted others with an infectious smile, a welcoming handshake or a sincere hug. No matter what age you were, he always greeted you with a "hello young lady" or "hello young man." Those who knew Jerry would always say he was an angel and helped anyone in need.
He took on any project under the sun and knew how to fix anything. If he didn't know how, he would "MacGyver" or YouTube it! Jerry especially loved tinkering with anything and everything in his garage with his buddy and beloved neighbor, Varney.
Jerry was a family man, he loved vacationing to the Outer Banks with family and friends, taking his grand kids to the Metroparks or lakes to fish and feed ducks and then of course, taking them for fast food anywhere they wanted to go. All his grand dogs held a special place in his heart too.
There will never be enough words to describe the amazing man Jerry was. Those that were lucky enough to meet him knew instantly he was a ray of kindness, goodness and generosity. He touched the lives of everyone he ever met and left them feeling a little more special and always with a smile.
Jerry graduated from West Tech High School in 1965 then served in the United States Army in Vietnam then worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Russel Gasket and GMI Inc. and even after retirement, he continued to use a micrometer for everything!
Jerry was the beloved husband for 51 years of Joyce (nee Petrowski). The loving father of Mary (James) Miezin, Tara (Chad) DiFranco, Nicole Pacanosky, Carrie (Joseph) Novak and Geri Pacanosky (Dave Kazian), Jerry was also the proudest "Pa" of Joey, Gracie "Gracie-Girl" and his buddy and sidekick Andrew, Ryan, Abby and Ellie, and Anthony, Mya, Olivia "Livi" and Noah.
Jerry was the dear brother of Bob (deceased) (Linda), Mary (Ed deceased) Tomecko, David (Sue), Paula (Jim) Weaver, Christine Hriczo and Wayne Matlus. Dearest brother in-law of Joanne (Don) Litvin, Jeff (deceased) (Sharon) Petrowski, and the late Peter, Joseph and Paul Petrowski and lifelong friend of the Dehil, Celaschi, Scheffer, Ohrenberger, Vilt, Frye and Helbling families.
Jerry leaves behind many friends, neighbors, nieces and nephews and a family that knew he was the best. His family knew they were blessed to have him know he has left his left this world a better place.
