Glenn "Joe" Hess
Joe was born in Medina, Ohio, on June 2nd, 1956, and passed away at age 69 on Friday, July 18th, at home surrounded by his family. Joe was the devoted husband of Cindy for 40 years. Beloved father of Kimberly (Mike) and Joseph (Madeline). He was a loving papa to Adam, Tegan, Reese, and Arik. Joe was a dear brother to his five siblings: Rita, Lynn, Mickey (deceased), Richard (deceased), and Mike and an uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Joe graduated from West Tech High School in 1974 before enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served for six and a half years. Joe proudly served the Cleveland Division of Police for 27 years. He served in multiple police districts throughout the city until joining the Traffic Unit as a motorcycle officer in 1997. He had a passion for sports, especially basketball. He spent several years coaching CYO basketball at St. Leo the Great School, including coaching one of his 8th grade teams to a city championship.
Joe was an incredibly special and kind person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles and had a passion for music, including playing his many guitars.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
