Irina Tordai (nee: Szücs), aged 71, passed away peacefully on October 1st, 2024. Daughter of János and Maria (Somogyi) Szücs of Transylvania, Romania. Lovingly referred to as "Ircsi", she was born in Marghita, Romania on June 12th, 1953. She later immigrated to Lakewood, Ohio from Transylvania, Romania, on October 13th of 1993.

She was a skilled barber, dedicating 15 years of service at Werner's Barber Shop, where she was known for her warm spirit and commitment to her craft. She retired from Werner's in 2020.

She loved to travel, be active, and cook. Her cooking at Christmas and Easter will be sorely missed.

Irina was the beloved partner of 19 years to Attila Balogh, of Solon, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Zoltan L. Slider (Leslie) of Parma Heights, her sister Maria Tako (Imre) of Hungary. She is preceded in death by her brothers, János Szücs and Imre Szücs.

A graduate of Liceul nr 4 in Romania, class of 1972. Irina cherished her Hungarian heritage and carried her values and culture throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Hospice of the Western Reserve (www.hospicewr.org/donate), an organization that provided compassionate care during her final days in her son's home. Irina's kind heart, independent spirit, strong work ethic, and dedication to her loved ones will be deeply missed. She requested no services nor memorial, only for her ashes to be spread in a special place in nature.
