Obituary

Jerry Cornell Jr. age 48 of Brook Park, passed away peacefully April 11, 2024. Known as "Brother" by all who knew him, he was the loving brother of Audrey June (Devin Pummell) and the late James "Jimmy" R. Smith Jr.

A dear son of the late Freda Cornell and James R. Smith, he was the loving nephew of Victoria Bailey and loving cousin of Thomas Kasserman, Veronica Lewis (Tim) and Tommie June Swain (Robin) and proud uncle of Kaylee Michelle and Joshua James.

Brother was loved by all and had many "adopted" brothers and sisters and was considered an uncle by their children. His infectious smile and constant joyous mood would brighten up any day. Brother loved all sports - especially basketball and his Steelers. He enjoyed playing sports too, he was in a wheelchair basketball league and was always busy until his mobility declined but even with his mobility and health issues, Brother was always ready to go.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 1 pm at

Trinity Church of Middleburg Heights

14040 Bagley Rd. in Middleburg Heights

where there will be a reception immediately following services.

Pastor Aaron Deal will be officiating.
