José R. León age 66, of Cleveland, passed away September 5, 2016. The beloved husband for almost 40 years of Maria Zayas and devoted father of José (Jessica), Jay (Rebecca), Joey (Gennifer), Rafael, Laura (deceased) and Ricardo. He was a proud grandfather of 9, and was known as a "walking encyclopedia" with his endless knowledge of facts. José was a teacher and mentor of many leaving a lasting legacy. He was a man of many trades and especially loved cars - in particular Volkswagens, always planning and looking forward to the next car show. A dear brother, uncle and friend of many, José was preceded in death by his only daughter Laura and his parents Rafael and Margarita. A sharing of memories service will be held Thursday September 8th at 8pm at the CANNON LOPRESTI & CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 11210 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, where family will receive friends from 5pm until time of gathering.
