Obituary

Katina Filippou (nee Malamatenakis), age 95, entered into rest on February 26, 2026. Beloved wife of Athanasios F Filippou. Loving mother of Argiro (deceased), Fotios and Antonios (Melanie). Cherished grandmother of Katerina, Athanasios (deceased) and Evagelia. Treasured sister, sister-in-law and aunt to many. Dear friend of all who knew her.
Katina grew up in Nikea where she helped raise her five younger brothers until she married at age 18 and started her own family. In 1974 she and Athanasios moved their family to Cleveland where they began the next chapter of their lives. Katina will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith and her welcoming spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 11am
at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
2187 W14th St. (at Fairfield), Cleveland. Where the family will receive friends from 10am until time of service.
Reverend Father Stephen Callos officiating.
Burial will be at St. Theodosius Cemetery
