Mary Caloudis, age 98, of Cleveland, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025 leaving behind a beautiful legacy of elegance, strength, and style.
Mary was born on August 14, 1926 in Weirton, West Virginia to the late Mike and Angelina (Xenakis) Karavolos. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Stelios Caloudis; her brothers, John (Irene) Karavolos and Tom (Stella) Karavolos; and sisters, Anne (Gus) Pappas and Frances (Marko) Titones.
She was loved and cherished by many people: her loving daughter, Denise (Paul) Papas, dearest granddaughter Angela (Dr. Nicholas Mastros) of Steubenville, Ohio and adored great-grandchildren Paul, Anastasia and Sophia along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mary met her husband in the 1940's in New York City after he returned from World War II. They were married and eventually settled in Cleveland. She studied accounting at Dyke College while working at Marcus Advertising as an executive assistant where on occasion was featured in their television ads. She was a cherished employee but left her career to join her husband to start the Teddi's Restaurants chain. Mary managed the business aspect of the restaurants and was an integral part of its success. When they weren't hard at work they enjoyed many travels around the world visiting all 7 continents. Mary was a bit of a fashionista and her greatest past-time was shopping the newest trends. She was a member of Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral, Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. Mary was always a support to those that needed her and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers for their loving and compassionate support.
