Richard Vega Rivera, age 62, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He was the beloved son of Ana Delia Rivera and
Virgilio Vega Carabello (deceased), and stepson of Angel L. Perez Rodriguez (deceased). Beloved brother of
Angel L. Perez Rivera, Alida Lilly Vega, Gloribel Vega Acevedo, Noraliz Vega Ramon, Migdalia Vega Roman,
and many other brothers and sisters. Uncle and cousin of many.
Richard
had a large, loving family and group of friends.
He was raised and lived in Yauco, Puerto Rico, and Washington Heights in New York, NY. During his younger years, he
was somewhat reserved, but he eventually blossomed into a free spirit. He studied in the public school system and
graduated with his first degree from B.M.C.C., where he also became an administrator. He continued his
learning during the years and eventually got his Real Estate License and his C.P.A. accreditation.
He traveled many continents and even met His Holiness the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican - it was one of the proudest moments of his life. He
always looked for the good in people and was always willing to help.
Richard was a person who would give his shirt
to you and always hoped that you would do the same for others when needed. His devout devotion to his
religious beliefs were honest and true.
He was a person who loved life and lived it to its fullest, never wanting to miss a moment. He was and will
always be known as a caring, loving, and straightforward person. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.
