Vasiliki “Vicky” E. Horne (nee Kyrkos), age 44, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on November 1, 2026, after a long, brave battle with breast cancer.

Vicky leaves behind her beloved daughter, Zoey; devoted parents, Stratos and Rania Kyrkos; cherished siblings Foti (Savita) Kyrkos, Christina (Mina) Fanourakis, Dionysia (Alban) Tasi, Sophia (Nick) Kreider, and Steve (Joanna) Call; and dear godson, Yianni Politis. She was the treasured Auntie and “Thea” of Jasmine and Isabella Kyrkos, George Fanourakis, Theodoros Tasi, and Steven and Ashley Call. She was also an adored niece and cousin to many. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fotios and Vasiliki Kyrkos and Christos and Asimina Bota.

Vicky had a vivacious and colorful personality and was full of light and life. Her generosity knew no bounds. She never turned away anyone who needed food, shelter, love, or just someone to talk to. In her own front yard, she created a community garden for her Lakewood neighborhood, which was a living testament to her belief in caring for others and making the world around her a little more beautiful. Her compassion extended beyond her own community. She was a steadfast supporter of the Free Palestine Movement, holding close the belief that everyone deserves freedom, dignity, and a safe place to call home. Even throughout her own cancer treatment, Vicky found ways to care for others. After each treatment session, she would leave an encouraging note for the next patient who would occupy her seat, offering hope to someone walking a similar path. She also left handwritten notes and candies for the healthcare workers who cared for her, thanking them for their kindness. Even while facing so much herself, she made sure others felt seen, appreciated, and loved.

Vicky was a fan of Arsenal Football Club and a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, DIY and craft projects, and decorating, especially for Halloween and Christmas. Vicky also loved her work as a Customer Service Agent at American Airlines, where she made many friends.

Animals held a special place in her heart, particularly her beloved puppies, Bentley and Nikita. She treasured time with her large, close-knit family, especially sleepovers with her nephew Georgie, who affectionately called her “Weeky Sou.” Most importantly,Vicky loved her daughter, Zoey, more than anything else in the world. She was so proud of her "Zoey Bear" and raised her to have the same vivacious spirit and strong sense of justice and kindness. Being Zoey’s mother was her greatest joy, and her love for her was fierce, unconditional, and without end. That love remains an enduring part of Vicky’s legacy, carried forward in the daughter she cherished so deeply.Vicky never gave up on anything she set her mind to, and she brought that same determination to her fight with cancer. She fought to the very end. She did not go quietly into the night; she left this world swinging.

A friend to all and loved by many, Vicky leaves behind a family and community forever touched by her warmth, strength, and boundless heart. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and staff at MetroHealth who cared for their beloved Vicky with compassion and kindness throughout her treatment journey and in her final days on this earth. The care and comfort they provided to Vicky and her family will always be remembered.

Private funeral services and interment will be officiated by Rev. Father Andrew Lentz of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
