George R. Beers Sr. age75, of Broadview Heights,
passed away peacefully November 2, 2021.
He now joins his wife Suzanne (nee Bailey)
his “Suzy Q” who passed in 2011.
A proud U.S. Army Veteran and loving father of
Rob and Fredrick (Jaque).
Devoted grandfather of his “little buddies” Austin and Ezekiel.
Dear brother of Shirley Syfert, uncle and friend of many.
All will miss his contagious laughter and sense of humor.
After 26 years of duty, and retiring as a Sargent 1st Class,
George loved this country and would go out of his way to thank
a fellow serviceman while proudly wearing his veteran hat.
He left his mark in this world, at 19 he was credited with
Saving the life of a 4 year old child. George was at the laundromat,
and was approached by scared screaming children
who explained their brother was drowning in a pond nearby,
George jumped into action and ran
to the pond, dove in and saved little Andy Rodriguez,
he then went back to the laundromat and continued with his laundry.
Known to be a deal seeker, he loved a good garage sale.
Ohio State lost a faithful fan with George’s passing and
all the ladies lost an unbashful flirt
“nothing ventured, nothing gained” was his motto.
George had a sweet tooth and a way of making every
situation fun with his sarcasm, wit and generosity.
After living a majority of his life in the Lancaster area,
George moved to the Cleveland area to live with his son
Fredrick and his wife Jaque.
